Ingredients
- 🍚 Basmati Rice – 2 cups, soaked for 20 mins
- 🧅 Onion – 1 large, thinly sliced
- 🧈 Ghee or Oil – 2 tbsp
- 🍃 Whole Spices – bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, shahi jeera
- 🧄 Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
- 🌿 Mint & Coriander – 1/2 cup, freshly chopped
- 🌶️ Green Chilies – 3-4, slit
Instructions
- 🔥 Heat ghee in a deep pot and sauté whole spices until they release a fragrant aroma.
- 🧅 Add sliced onions and green chilies, frying until the onions turn golden brown.
- 🧄 Stir in ginger-garlic paste along with fresh mint and coriander leaves for a minute.
- 🍚 Pour in water (approx 3.5 cups), add salt, and bring to a rolling boil.
- 🥘 Add soaked rice, cover tightly, and cook on low heat until the water is fully absorbed.
