Ingredients
- 🍦 Heavy Cream – 2 cups chilled
- 🥛 Whole Milk – 1 cup
- 🍬 Granulated Sugar – 3/4 cup
- 🥚 Egg Yolks – 4 large
- ✨ Vanilla Bean or Extract – 1 tsp
- 🧂 Salt – a tiny pinch
Instructions
- 🥣 Whisk egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until pale and creamy.
- 🔥 Heat milk and salt in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
- 🥄 Slowly temper the eggs by whisking in hot milk, then cook until thick.
- ❄️ Strain the mixture, add cream and vanilla, then chill for 4 hours.
- 🍨 Churn in an ice cream maker until thick and freeze until firm.
