Ingredients
- 🥛 Whole milk – 2 cups
- 🍦 Heavy cream – 1 cup
- 🍬 Sugar – ¾ cup
- 🥚 Egg yolks – 4 large
- ✨ Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
- 🍓 Optional flavorings (fruit, chocolate)
Instructions
- 🔥 Gently heat milk, cream, and half the sugar in a saucepan.
- 🥚 Whisk egg yolks and remaining sugar until pale and thick.
- 🌡️ Temper the egg mixture with the warm milk mixture.
- 🥄 Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture coats the back of a spoon.
- ❄️ Chill thoroughly, then churn in an ice cream maker. Freeze until firm.
