Ingredients
- 🍚 Basmati Rice – 2 cups
- 🧅 Onions – 2 medium, chopped
- 🍅 Tomatoes – 3 medium, pureed
- 🧄 Ginger-Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp
- 🌶️ Green Chilies – 2-3, slit
- 🌿 Coriander Leaves – for garnish
- 🥄 Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
- 🥄 Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
- 🥄 Garam Masala – 1 tsp
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 🫘 Lentils (Dal) - 1 cup
Instructions
- 🍚 Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes.
- 🔥 Heat oil in a pot, add onions and sauté until golden brown.
- 🧄 Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sauté for a minute.
- 🍅 Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates.
- 🥄 Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.
- 🥘 Add rice and lentils. Add water (2:1 ratio for rice). Bring to a boil, then simmer until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
- 🌿 Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
