Ingredients
- 🌶️ Ancho chiles – dried
- 🧅 Onion – chopped
- 🧄 Garlic – minced
- 🍅 Tomatoes – canned
- 🍗 Chicken or beef – optional
- 🍫 Mexican chocolate – small amount
- 🌿 Oregano – dried
- 🌿 Thyme – dried
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 🫘 Broth or water
Instructions
- 🌶️ Rehydrate ancho chiles in hot water.
- 🧅 Sauté onion and garlic in a pot.
- 🍅 Blend the chiles, tomatoes, spices and broth into a sauce.
- 🥘 Add sauce, meat and chocolate to pot and simmer.
- 🥣 Serve with toppings such as rice, beans, or sour cream.
