Ingredients

  • 🌶️ Ancho chiles – dried
  • 🧅 Onion – chopped
  • 🧄 Garlic – minced
  • 🍅 Tomatoes – canned
  • 🍗 Chicken or beef – optional

  • 🌿 Oregano – dried
  • 🌿 Thyme – dried
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 🫘 Broth or water

Instructions

  • 🌶️ Rehydrate ancho chiles in hot water.
  • 🧅 Sauté onion and garlic in a pot.
  • 🍅 Blend the chiles, tomatoes, spices and broth into a sauce.
  • 🥘 Add sauce, meat and chocolate to pot and simmer.
  • 🥣 Serve with toppings such as rice, beans, or sour cream.
